Strongroom Studios in East London have recently invested in a range of new vocal recording equipment. The recent addition of a Telefunken ELA M251 microphone a pair of Neve 1073 mic pre-amps and a Teletronix LA2A compressor as well as the option to use a Sony C800G owned by one of their resident producers follows a surge in demand for vocal recording and writing sessions by high profile artists (Professor Green One Direction Emeli Sande Lana Del Rey Paolo Nutini.) Responding to feedback from artists producers and engineers the Strongroom team identified the items that would best complement the studio’s existing inventory. Studio manager Phil Sisson explained “Strongroom has always been a popular choice for vocal sessions but recently this type of work has accounted for a greater proportion of what we do. Having the right equipment is clearly important but the overall experience is what traditional commercial studios do best. Big comfortable rooms with on-site techs and experienced assistants ensure everything goes smoothly to provide clients with a memorable experience.”
