Steve Levine To Open New Liverpool Studio

Posted on 22nd April 2013

Renowned record producer and head of the MPG Steve Levine is set to open a new recording studio on Merseyside. The Liverpool Echo has reported that Levine who has worked with the likes of Culture Club Beach Boys Motorhead and Gary Moore has chosen Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle district as the base for his new facility due to the number of promising musicians that he feels the city is currently producing. “I’ve been visiting and working in Liverpool frequently over the past ten years – I find the city very vibrant and the people welcoming. It’s full of really creative individuals as well as innovative musicians and recording professionals. The new studio in the Baltic Triangle will give me a good recording space and a similar-sized control room to my previous studio which works well. The new set-up will allow for both rehearsal and recording of a band and allow some good sonic options in the space.” Levine believes that moving to the North West will also allow him to uncover hidden talent in the region. “I’m keen to work with new artistes as well as those I’m currently producing – including Liverpool singer-songwriter Natalie McCool” he added. “I’m a LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts) companion and regularly present production masterclasses at LIPA. Plus I produce a radio series for the BBC and that will be easier as I’m closer to Salford. “I’m really looking forward to being based in the city. The music community of Liverpool has always made me feel very welcome – it’s a city brimming with creativity and unique talents.” Full details courtesy of Audio Pro International here.
