SONIC VISTA STUDIOS – INTERVIEW WITH HENRY SARMIENTO II

Sonic Vista Studios in Ibiza is a creative hub for Ibiza’s high profile international artists wanting to record while holidaying on the island. Featured in a recent article for Audio Media magazine studio owner Henry Sarmiento II explains why he moved from New York to Spain how being in Ibiza has helped the studio and what equipment he prefers to use and why. Henry was born in New York but was running Herbie Herbert’s Sy Klopps Studios in San Francisco for many years prior to moving to Ibiza. His vision to build a studio on an island came from a desire to get away from city life and he felt that the island most in need of a professional recording studio was Ibiza. Before he moved he already had clients there! The island after all is the mecca of electronic music and draws many artists to perform there. Those same artists often want to record while they are in Ibiza for the summer as well as out of season. He also has a remote recording rig which he uses to record the Ibiza Rocks shows and then mixes back in the studio before sending them over to MTV.
